Friday Encouragement – December 29, 2017

End-of-the-Year Giving!

Have you been looking for that last, final opportunity to give to the Lord?  (Remember giving is fun, and a privilege)!  This Sunday will be it if you want to receive a deduction for this year.  2017 has been a great year for our church, with a marked change taking place during our Blessed Life sermon series.  May I encourage you to finish 2017 well and start 2018 by entrusting your finances to the Lord?

In 1 Chronicles 29:14 King David reminds us to keep a right perspective about our stuff –

“But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand.”

Friday Worship – 7:00pm – River Fellowship

For about 15 years the churches of Windsor having been joining together in unity to worship the Lord.  If you’re freetonight come join other Christians at River Fellowship’s newly remodeled sanctuary – 195 Windsor River Road.

Sunday, 12/31 Guest Speaker!

imageI’m delighted that Katherine Schoen, the Adult Ministry pastor at Redwood Covenant Church in Santa Rosa will be speaking this Sunday

Katherine has served on the staff of RCC for the past thirteen years, which included serving under Andy Cater (who???!!!) for nine years.  She is passionate about inspiring people to dive into God’s Word, discover who God made them to be and equip them to engage in the ministry God called them to.

Katherine is a Santa Rosa native, and along with Michael, her husband of 23 years, is raising their three beautiful children here.  She loves Disneyland trips with her family and watching Rick Steves with Michael (the only way to travel the world)!

Operation Christmas Child News

(From Janelle Deas)

Merry Christmas…Clearance Time!  This is the time to keep your eyes open for great deals for shoeboxes!  Dollar Store has half off Christmas items, as do many other places too.  So keep a lookout when you’re out and about!

I am so excited to say that already 40 washcloths were brought in Sunday, and two weeks ago a dozen fun bouncy balls.  This is awesome!  This is how it will come together for our packing party in 2018!  I don’t have our goal yet, but let’s just say I believe that 300+ is possible if we do it together (and most importantly do it in prayer).  Let’s ask God how He would like to use us this upcoming year in this ministry.

Happy New Year and looking forward to serving with you in it!

Thanks to all who have signed up so far for our Israel trip!  If you’re still interested in going, but unsure how it can happen, there is plenty of time to sign up.  Talk to Pastor Mark if you would like more information.

Sunday, 12/31 –

My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:1-6)

See ya Sunday!

Pastor Mark
