Friday Encouragement – January 12, 2018

Great New Year’s Resolutions!

Typically speaking, New Year’s resolutions don’t work out for most of us.  If you’re like me, you may have already fallen short, and it’s only the twelfth day of the January!  We all want to change and improve overnight—but developing new habits takes time and effort.  You have to really commit.

Examine the lives of Christians who have impacted the world for Jesus Christ and you will find their spiritual success wasn’t an accident.  Effective Christians purposefully and deliberately commit to developing habits that focus their thoughts and actions on living a life of faith.

I received a great resource from Pastor Greg Laurie about committing to 10 disciplines in 2018.  Check it out –

Operation Christmas Child – January Update

Okay Shoebox Peeps – The new year has begun and so has the prep for this year.  We will be starting up our Friday service nights once a month beginning in February.  Last year this was an amazing time of preparing, but also such great fellowship for the ladies.  Men, if you are feeling left out – you can either donate toward the service projects, or come find me and I will give you a project too!

We are looking for donations of soap bars immediately.  We need to begin curing them which takes 9-12 months.  The best deal is the 3-pack of hypoallergenic soap (green packaging) at the Dollar Store.

If you need a picture of items to buy or have any questions, please email me at: deas3@juno.com

Looking forward to this year!!!

Stay tuned for our goal number this year…

Thanks to all who have signed up so far for our Israel trip!  If you’re still interested in going, but unsure how it can happen, there is plenty of time to sign up.  Talk to Pastor Mark if you would like more information.

Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart. (1 Peter 1:22)
